Rex Peterson has trained horses for some of your favorite films (Black Beauty, Black Stallion, Hidalgo, The Horse Whisperer, Flicka, Dreamer, Secretariat, among many others) for over 3 decades, teaching them to perform the impossible. He has buried a horse alive for a music video, trained a horse to climb on top of cars and jump off a ferry boat, he has run a herd of 380 horses and gathered them up in less than an hour, among many other scenes that most people say is impossible. Rex learned from the Master Horseman Glenn Randall, Sr. who trained all the Triggers, the horses for Ben Hur and horses for many other films. In this video you’ll see two of Rex’s horses performing at liberty.
I got to meet and watch Rex work last summer here in New Mexico. A really impressive horse trainer!
