May 28-29 there will be a special John Wayne birthday celebration in Winterset, Iowa. There will be town walking tours, pancake breakfast, exhibits of John Wayne memorabilia, dedication of a John Wayne statue, free John Wayne movies, an auction, music, Miss Iowa Teen Rodeo Queen, and a special big screen presentation of the movie The Alamo. John Wayne’s Daughter Aissa Wayne will also be there. Proceeds from the celebration benefit the new John Wayne Birthplace Museum and Learning Center.
