Monday March 4, 2013 the New Mexico Legislature is going to vote (and hopefully approve) a resolution asking the Governor to make the 4th Saturday in July a permanent Day of the Cowboy in New Mexico. Thank you Representative Brian Egolf for sponsoring this resolution for the second time. It’s greatly appreciated!
Bethany Braley, Executive Director of the National Day of the Cowboy non-profit organization, will be present on March 4th to help us celebrate at the Legislature. She is also bringing the Day of the Cowboy official flag that was taken to the International Space Station and returned last year. Cool!
This is part of a growing national movement and many states cowboys are attempting similar actions. Wish us luck!
