Pam Minick was recently inducted into the Cowgirls Hall of Fame. From their website: “Atomic Blonde is how Pam’s Las Vegas birth announcements read. Always competitive, her spirit and dedication made her a true ambassador for rodeo as a competitor and a promoter. Her list of accomplishments includes champion calf roper, actress, movie stuntperson, businesswoman and sports commentator. She served as Vice President of the WPRA and helped bring about significant advances for women’s rodeo. Her popularity as a rodeo commentator helped increase interest in the sport as a whole.”
From the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee website: “Pam Minick is a former Miss Rodeo America, and is one of the most well-known faces in the world of rodeo. As a rodeo competitor, she was the Nevada High School Rodeo Barrel Racing Champion, and the 1982 Women’s World Champion Breakaway Calf Roper.
“Minick has appeared as a sports commentator/interviewer on over 1,000 nationally televised Rodeo, equestrian, and country music specials. She has had the opportunity to work with or interview George Strait, Bo Derek, Tim McGraw, Brooks & Dunn, Reba McEntire, Larry Mahan, Walt Garrison, Don Gay, Reggie Jackson and more. Minick has also appeared in movies, including “The Sacketts” with Tom Selleck, and “Rodeo Girl” with Katherine Ross. She is currently the host of The American Rancher and 20X Rodeo Hi, both airing on RFD-TV.
“Minick is the marketing director of Billy Bob’s Texas, “The World’s Largest Honky Tonk”, a 100,000 square foot family entertainment center in the Fort Worth Stockyards, where her husband Billy is part-owner and General Manager. Billy is a former National Finalist in Bull Riding, who now enjoys team roping with Pam. They live on a small ranch in Argyle, Texas.”
