legends

The Legends of Texas is an organization dedicated to the conservation and preservation of that portion of American History between 1835 and early 1900’s – the true western days of our country. “Legends” was founded in 1981 in Fort Worth, Texas with the goal of preserving the rich Western heritage which Texas and surrounding states have inherited from the hard work and determination of our forefathers.

They provide professional actors in western costumes for many types of events. Brad Gandy is the organization’s President and today it’s based in Richardson, Texas.

From their website:
“WESTERN GUNFIGHTS AND COMEDY SKITS
A wide selection of themes that will engage and entertain all ages. Gunfights or skits can be personalized to fit your event or organization! Crowd pleasing slapstick humor, blazing guns, bank robberies, or blowing up the “Outhouse” ~ each skit involves the audience and we use blanks so we can re-use the bad guys!

MEET AND GREET
Hire any number of characters to mix and mingle at your next event or party. Great for organization parties, getting added attention at your retail business, or any gathering wishing to add an “old west” flair. Add a skit or gunfight to complete the package!

JAIL AND BAIL
Ideal for an organization fund raiser! Warrants are issued for your “culprit”, then the Marshall serves the warrant and locks ’em up. Bail is determined by The Judge and must be paid to secure release. A “fun” way to raise money for your cause or just another way to entertain your event guests!

MELODRAMAS
The Villain, A Damsel in distress, and The Good Guy! Full length, nonstop action with audience involvement and popcorn! Include an intermission with an old time magic show… the options are endless! We bring the background set or use your location. Melodrama may be a one day event or an extended engagement.

COWBOY CAMP
We bring an historically correct “trail drivers” camp to your event. Our characters provide presentations to the guests and demonstrate the use of actual historical artifacts. This type of entertainment venue is ideal for any type of festival or event where learning and history is teamed up with fun… to boot!
